Tonight, after I finished my homework, I played with a free program downloadable from the internet called Poladroid. It’s an application that allows you to drag digital photos from your computer and applies a filter on them so they look like real poladroids. The process made me remember that I have a polaroid camera at home, soon made to be useless and obsolete by the decision to stop producing polaroid film.
When I googled ‘polaroid film’ online, I came upon an amazing blog post about a blogger who found an amazing website made by the friends of a man who took a polaroid picture a day for 18 years, til the day he died, from March 31, 1979 to October 25, 1997. I highly recommend perusal of post, which is put together painstakingly and lovingly, in dedication of an inspiring person.
The above polaroid is a real one that he took; clicking on it will you to the actual website.
